Tommy Thompson named as Director of Support Services for Hendersonville and Portland Medical Centers

HENDERSONVILLE, TN (October 25, 2006) - Tommy Thompson was recently named Director of Support Services for both Hendersonville Medical Center and Portland Medical Center. On September 1, 2006, Portland Medical Center officially integrated with Hendersonville Medical Center and is now recognized by the state as one entity - operating under the same licensure in two separate locations. 

Thompson will have overall responsibility for plant operations, security, biomedical services, and environmental services for both campuses.  Tommy comes to Hendersonville from the Chattanooga area where he recently served as the Director of Plant Operations for the Memorial Healthcare System. Prior to his role at Memorial, he was with Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga and Maury Regional in Columbia.

“Tommy brings to us a wealth of knowledge and experience and will be a great addition to the Hendersonville and Portland Medical Center family,” said Mike Esposito, Chief Executive Officer.  “He brings a breadth and depth of experience in facilities management to both campuses, which will serve us well as we continue to grow.”
